ABOUT OUR ASSOCIATION

Founded in December 2015 by designer Mathias, the Matières Libres Association aims to help graduates of the applied arts and crafts, as well as those who are self-taught, to overcome the challenges of transitioning to a professional life.

The Mathias Prize, organized by the MATIÈRES LIBRES Association, supports young designers, whether they are students at schools of applied arts and crafts, or self-taught artists.

The jury is made up of prominent figures from the applied arts, design and interior decoration industry, as well as business leaders and the media. They come together to select the three most accomplished and original projects based on the most innovative and daring use of materials.
